Carlton Palmer Predicts Leeds United Will Miss Out on Nottingham Forest Midfielder Lewis O’Brien to West Brom
Lewis O’Brien, currently on loan at Los Angeles FC, has been impressing, and Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing him once his MLS deal expires in December【TEAMtalk】.
However, former West Brom and Leeds player Carlton Palmer told Football League World on November 2 that O’Brien’s past connection with West Brom manager Carlos Corberan makes the Baggies the likely frontrunners in securing his services.
“If West Brom can secure O’Brien’s signature, you’d assume they’re leading the race,” Palmer said.
“His previous success with Corberan might not guarantee a preference for West Brom, but it certainly puts them at the forefront.”
Palmer also noted the financial aspect, saying, “It’s clear that when the time comes to sign him, finances will play a crucial role, especially with so many clubs interested.”
Leeds United’s Midfield Dilemma
Leeds United, currently dealing with a midfield shortage, may be prepared to pursue O’Brien aggressively.
Despite signing free agent Josuha Guilavogui, Leeds’ manager Daniel Farke aims to add one more midfielder to bolster their options for the remainder of the season.
Injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev have left Leeds with limited choices, and their absence is likely to continue for some time.
