When asked by iSport whether he would consider staying at Ibrox beyond the summer, Cerny responded enthusiastically.

“There’s no time to think about it—we play every three days. I don’t have an option in my contract, and that’s the only official position. I have no idea what will happen.”

When pressed on whether Rangers have signaled any intention to negotiate with Wolfsburg, his parent club, he replied:

“No, nothing so far. I’m just enjoying my time with the team.

“Rangers are expected to undergo changes in the summer, with rumors of new owners acquiring a significant share of the club.

“But nothing is confirmed—it’s all speculation in the media. Discussing future plans now would be premature since no one knows what will happen in two months.”

Could Rangers Afford to Sign Cerny?

Reports suggest Wolfsburg values Cerny at around £8 million, a price beyond Rangers’ current financial capabilities.

However, there may still be a way to secure his permanent transfer.

As Cerny hinted, the anticipated takeover by the San Francisco 49ers could create an opportunity.

The outgoing Rangers board sought transfer guarantees from 49ers Enterprises, and not all new signings will be long-term development projects.
