Tottenham Eye £30m Attacker Praised as ‘Unbelievable’ by Mauricio Pochettino Last Year.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several attacking talents as the club looks to bolster its firepower and add depth to its frontline.

Among the names associated with Spurs in recent weeks are Ademola Lookman, Tyler Dibling, and Charalampos Kostoulas, all of whom have been identified as potential reinforcements.

However, the latest focus has turned toward a Premier League forward who has earned high praise from former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham’s Interest in Noni Madueke

Spurs are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, whose future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.

According to Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent for TBR Football, Tottenham have long admired Madueke, though they face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

The winger was on Tottenham’s radar even before Chelsea secured his signature in a £30 million deal from PSV Eindhoven.

With Chelsea now open to offloading him this summer, Spurs could have a clear path to securing his services without significant resistance from the Blues.

Madueke made a strong impression during Chelsea’s victory over Tottenham last May, prompting glowing praise from Pochettino.

Speaking after the match, the former Spurs boss described the English winger’s performance as “unbelievable.”

“Noni Madueke today, for me, unbelievable,” Pochettino told reporters, as quoted by Squawka.

He went on to highlight Madueke’s progress throughout the season, crediting the player for his tactical discipline and work rate.

“He was capable today of doing a fantastic job with the ball – of course, he is an offensive player – but without the ball, he is doing a fantastic job helping Alfie [Gilchrist] defend.

“That is what we need for the future, to build this competitive spirit.”

What Madueke Could Bring to Tottenham

Madueke’s footballing journey began in London, where he was part of the youth setups at Crystal Palace and Tottenham before moving to PSV Eindhoven in 2018.

It was in the Netherlands that he made a name for himself, impressing with his dynamic attacking play and attracting Chelsea’s interest.

Since returning to England in January 2023, Madueke has accumulated over 50 Premier League appearances, demonstrating his ability to compete at the highest level.

His experience also includes numerous Europa League outings from his PSV days.

A versatile left-footed attacker, Madueke primarily operates as a right winger but has also featured on the left, as a central forward, and as an attacking midfielder.

His dribbling skills, pace, and ability to take on defenders make him a dangerous prospect.

Saul Isaksson-Hurst, a coach who has worked with Madueke, previously spoke to the Daily Mail about the player’s potential.

“He is one of the best, if not the best young forward player in Europe,” Isaksson-Hurst said.

“He’s a really dynamic and exciting player, one who likes to take players on and create things. He’s box office, and that’s what all supporters like to see.

“There’s an end product too, so he’s exciting to watch, and I’m sure Chelsea fans will enjoy having him at the club and seeing him scoring goals and providing assists.”

With Tottenham looking to add attacking reinforcements, Madueke could be a strong addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad, offering versatility and creativity in the final third.
