Rangers pursue deal to sign Scottish Premiership midfield star – Sky Sports

Cameron, currently in the final six months of his contract, would require Dundee to receive a compensation fee should he depart on a free transfer at the season’s end.

Rangers are reportedly looking to replicate their successful acquisition of Connor Barron from Aberdeen on a free transfer last summer by targeting Cameron.

The 22-year-old has been a key player for Dundee, recording eight goals and seven assists in 27 appearances this season.

However, the Scotland Under-21 international’s potential move to Ibrox could force Dundee to settle for a compensation fee.

Rangers are likely keen to prevent rival clubs from securing Cameron, making a swift agreement crucial.

Patrick Stewart, therefore, may prioritize finalizing a deal for the midfielder as quickly as possible.

There is speculation over whether Philippe Clement might bring Cameron to Govan during the current transfer window rather than waiting until the summer.

For now, Rangers’ focus seems to be on securing the player through a pre-contract agreement to join on a free transfer.
