However, his overall game time has been restricted lately, with Hamza Igamane occupying the lone striker position in Philippe Clement’s 4-3-3 system.
This situation has fueled speculation about a potential exit for Dessers. He admits that his price tag limits potential suitors but remains committed to Rangers for now.
Speaking to Voetbal International, Dessers said: “Last month, I lost my starting position. The boy playing now, Igamane, is a good striker who scores goals.
I support him because I want the team to win, but it’s not easy for me. I’m unsure of my current role.
“I understand Rangers may want to capitalize on me.
However, January is a tough transfer window. Clubs in form likely already have strikers performing well, and those needing goals may not have the millions required. It’s a waiting game.
“I’m at a fantastic club, but I’m 30 years old and want regular football—ideally at Rangers. If there are differing opinions internally, we’ll need to discuss it.
I have a specific price tag, and only a few clubs can meet it. Regardless, I want to compete seriously for trophies. My passion for the game remains strong.”
