“I got on really well with (Duff) when we worked together at Celtic,” he said. “Obviously, he’s different now as a manager, but he’s still the same great person, and everyone loves him.”

Reflecting on their previous connection, McInroy added:

“We always had a great relationship when he was my coach for that short period. We’ve stayed in touch over the years.

He actually tried to bring me to Shelbourne a couple of times before, but for different reasons, it didn’t happen.

This time, everything felt right. We spoke, I came over for a couple of days, and we got everything sorted.”
