Rangers trio attract interest as target nears ‘extraordinary move’ – January transfer update

Rangers face a race against time to secure new signings before the transfer window shuts.

Rangers have had a relatively quiet January transfer window, with centre-back Rafael Fernandes being their only signing so far, arriving on loan from Lille.

Several players have departed on temporary deals, including Kieran Dowell (Birmingham), Alex Lowry, Robbie Fraser, Cole McKinnon, Leyton Grant, Kristian Webster, and Archie Stevens.

With the transfer window closing on Monday night, manager Philippe Clement has acknowledged the need for further signings.

However, he has reiterated that financial decisions rest with the board, making it unclear whether additional funds will be made available.

Cyriel Dessers

Rangers may be reluctant to part ways with Cyriel Dessers, given his recent resurgence and Philippe Clement reinstating him to the starting XI.

Meanwhile, Italian side Cagliari, reportedly interested in Dessers, may have a spot to fill as Gianluca Lapadula looks set to depart.

Ridvan Yilmaz

Ridvan Yilmaz continues to be linked with a move away, particularly to Turkey.

However, manager Philippe Clement dismissed the speculation as a “shambles.”

Yilmaz has also allegedly rejected offers from Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce.

Hamza Igamane

Hamza Igamane remains a Rangers player, but speculation over his future has grown following Tottenham’s failed £50 million pursuit of Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel.

Spurs had been strongly linked with Igamane but prioritized Tel instead.

Now that the French striker has rejected Tottenham, interest in Igamane could reignite. Despite the rumors, Igamane has insisted he is happy at Rangers.

Kevin Mantilla

Rangers had reportedly targeted centre-back Kevin Mantilla in a £1.8 million deal.

However, the 21-year-old is now set for a surprise move to Colombian club Independiente Medellin from Argentina’s CA Talleres.

Previously linked with Liverpool as well, Mantilla looks set to remain in South America.

Adam Devine

Adam Devine has secured a loan move to Queen’s Park following a previous spell at Motherwell.

The young full-back was told he was free to leave Rangers and is expected to make a permanent exit in the summer.
