Tottenham Hotspur recently secured Leeds academy graduate Archie Gray, intending to utilize the versatile 18-year-old in midfield despite his standout performances at right-back last season.
Midfielder Marc Roca and winger Luis Sinisterra have departed permanently, while uncertainties loom over the futures of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto. Summerville, especially, has attracted Premier League interest, potentially prompting Leeds to seek a replacement attacker alongside their pursuit of a wide player, a striker, and a right-back to fill Gray’s void.
Summerville’s impact last season, where he was named Championship player of the season for his 19 goals and nine assists, underscores his importance to Leeds, with his departure likely influencing the club’s transfer strategy.
Jacobs emphasized Leeds’ proactive stance in the market, contingent on Summerville’s future, stating, “Leeds will now be looking for a wide player and a striker, and that will become even more pertinent if Crysencio Summerville departs. They could also be in the market for another right-back as well.”
With interest from Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion, Summerville’s potential £35 million move to the Seagulls appears imminent, pending final negotiations.
Additionally, Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell is poised to join Toulouse after initial talks stalled last month. The 21-year-old, who struggled for playing time under manager Daniel Farke last season, is now in renewed negotiations to finalize his move to Ligue 1, with Toulouse eager to secure his signature amidst interest from Championship clubs as well.
