Leicester City is competing with Roma to sign Juventus winger Matias Soule, but TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal that Roma is currently in the lead.
Sources tell our transfer correspondent Rudy Galetti that Roma is highly confident about securing Soule. The player’s agent is advocating for a move to Roma, who are offering a higher commission for the deal. Negotiations with the Giallorossi are now in the final stages.
The 21-year-old Soule, who scored 11 goals in 39 appearances on loan at Frosinone last season, is considered a promising talent. Leicester has made a significant opening bid of £21 million and sent representatives to negotiate directly with Juventus in Turin.
Despite Leicester’s efforts, Soule’s preference is to stay in Italy. Combined with his agent’s push for a Roma transfer, this gives the Italian club a distinct edge. Soule has already agreed on personal terms with Roma; the only remaining step is to finalize the fee with Juventus.
TEAMtalk confirms that Juventus’ director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has set Soule’s price at €30 million (£25.2 million). Roma plans to meet this valuation with an offer that includes performance-related bonuses.
