Report: David Moyes persists in chase as Everton renew interest in £25m star with ‘rare quality’

Everton's only signing in the January transfer window was Carlos Alcaraz.

Everton Revive Interest in Rangers Striker Hamza Igamane

David Moyes was eager to sign a striker in January, especially with injuries to Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin limiting his options.

However, he ultimately opted to hold off on spending, preserving funds for the summer transfer window.

Behind the scenes, Everton’s recruitment team has been compiling a shortlist of potential targets. Now, a fresh transfer report has linked them once again with a familiar name.

Everton Eyeing Summer Move for Igamane

Everton showed interest in Rangers striker Hamza Igamane during the January window, with reports suggesting a deal was close.

However, his £25m price tag cooled their pursuit, and they settled for just one addition instead.

According to Africa Foot, the Toffees are now reigniting their interest in Igamane ahead of a potential summer move.

However, they will face competition, as Sevilla and Marseille have also been monitoring the 22-year-old Moroccan forward in recent weeks.

Igamane’s Impressive Form

Rangers only signed Igamane last summer, but he has already made a significant impact at Ibrox, scoring 13 goals in his debut season.

He has also earned a call-up to Morocco’s senior national team.

Known for dropping deep to link up play, Igamane has created six big chances this season, per FotMob, though he has only registered three assists.

His talent has drawn praise from teammate Ianis Hagi, who describes him as a player with “rare quality.”

Additionally, the young striker has shone in the Europa League, netting four goals in seven appearances, further solidifying his growing reputation as a top attacking prospect.
