REPORT: Everton Aiming to Sign 22-Cap Brazilian Midfielder Set to Depart

Everton may seek to strengthen their midfield this summer, especially if Amadou Onana departs. Additionally, they can’t rely on Idrissa Gueye indefinitely and must consider his eventual replacement.

Currently, Everton haven’t decided to sell the Belgian international, but he attracts considerable interest.

According to TuttoJuve, Melo is not in Thiago Motta’s plans for next season and could leave Juventus for the Premier League or the Saudi Pro League. In England, Everton, Crystal Palace, and West Ham are closely monitoring him.

Earlier this month, Tuttosport reported that Everton has a strong interest in Melo, who may join them this summer.

Everton seems to have met PSR requirements after selling Lewis Dobbin and Ben Godfrey. This positions them to add new players, and Melo could be a great acquisition if he’s available at a reasonable price.

The Brazilian, capped 22 times, joined Liverpool in 2022 but only played once. After recovering from injury, he was loaned to Fiorentina from Juventus, where he made 48 appearances, scoring two goals.

Having played for clubs like Juventus and Barcelona, Melo could be a valuable option for Everton’s midfield. With Juventus looking to offload him, this presents an opportunity for Everton and other Premier League clubs to negotiate with the Serie A club.
