Report: Everton Target Argentina Star Rated ‘Exceptional on the Ball’ in Deal Worth Under £30m

Everton are set to continue playing Premier League football next season after David Moyes made an impressive return to the club, steering them away from relegation danger.

The Scotsman’s influence has been evident, and mathematical safety is now just around the corner.

With survival virtually secured, Everton have already turned their attention to the 2025/26 season and are preparing for a busy summer.

Medina, who joined Lens from Talleres in 2020, has become a mainstay in the French club’s lineup.

Lens are reportedly open to selling the 25-year-old this summer, valuing him at around €30–35 million (£26–30 million), as they look to ease financial pressures and capitalize on his current peak value.

Versatility is one of Medina’s standout traits. While naturally a central defender, he has also been deployed at left-back and in central midfield.

Earlier this season, a profile from Get French Football News (GFFN) described him as a key player at Lens. Under former manager Franck Haise, he typically played on the left of a back three.

However, new boss Will Still has used him in midfield and at full-back, giving Medina the platform to showcase his technical ability—an often-overlooked part of his game.

True to his South American roots, Medina plays with intensity and aggression, never backing down from a challenge.

He has earned five international caps with Argentina and has a reputation for collecting yellow cards, a reflection of his combative nature.

Still, his current manager Will Still is a big admirer. Reflecting on his previous encounters with Medina while managing Reims, he said: “He was a player I hated.

He drove me crazy on the pitch. But now, he’s the first guy I’d want on my team.”
