Textor, an American, is a big admirer of Ferreira, the Portuguese coach who led Brazilian club Palmeiras to the title last season.

Textor has closely observed Ferreira’s work, as he owns Botafogo through his Eagle Holdings empire, and is eager to collaborate with him.

Although Ferreira is under contract until the end of next year and would require compensation, Textor is undeterred.

He is working to finalize his takeover of Everton and also to sell his shares in Crystal Palace, with fellow Americans Josh Harris and David Blitzer among those interested in acquiring them.

Textor is determined to secure Everton, which would place significant pressure on Dyche.

Despite Dyche’s success in keeping Everton up under difficult conditions last season, his current performance has been disappointing.

Paolo Fonseca, another highly regarded Portuguese coach, is also a target for Textor, though attracting him from AC Milan could prove challenging.

He enjoyed a five-year stint with Sporting CP before retiring early due to persistent injury issues.

Ferreira then transitioned into coaching, starting with youth teams and B sides at Sporting and Braga.

His breakthrough came with Braga’s first team, and he subsequently moved to PAOK in Greece.

Since 2020, Ferreira has made a significant impact in Brazil with Palmeiras, where he has won three trophies.
