Report: Leeds’ Progress Towards Meeting Sheffield United’s Valuation for Jayden Bogle

Amid the uncertainty surrounding Rasmus Kristensen’s future and the departures of Connor Roberts, Archie Gray, and Jamie Shackleton, right-back has become a key position of interest for Leeds.

Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle is reportedly their top target, with just a year left on his contract at Bramall Lane. This contract situation, combined with Leeds being potential promotion rivals, puts Sheffield United in a challenging position regarding Bogle’s future. They are keen to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 12 months, especially as he was a regular in the Premier League last season, making 34 appearances.

Reports suggest Sheffield United have set a £7 million asking price for Bogle following Leeds’ interest. The Blades originally paid around £15 million to sign him and Max Lowe from Derby County in the summer of 2020, so the fee is considered reasonable. According to the Sheffield Star, Leeds have had two offers rejected by their Yorkshire rivals for the 23-year-old, but it remains unclear how much those offers totaled. The report indicates Leeds are still far from meeting the valuation.

Leeds still have considerable work to do to secure Bogle in this crucial position. However, the fact that they have already submitted two offers suggests some encouragement behind the scenes. Despite Paraag Marathe’s assurance that Leeds would be in a strong position to finalize deals early, some supporters are growing restless due to the lack of new signings.

Currently, it seems Leeds are focused on selling, with Willy Gnonto, Glen Kamara, and Junior Firpo all strongly linked with exits in the past 24 hours. Leeds need a signing of Bogle’s caliber and cost not only to appease fans but also to avoid a repeat of last season’s slow start.

Even with his contract situation, £7 million seems like a fair fee. Securing a player from a strong divisional rival would also be a statement of intent for Leeds.
