Maresca has hinted that Dewsbury-Hall could leave Chelsea, giving van Nistelrooy the green light to bring him back to Leicester in 2025.
Speaking in a press conference, Maresca expressed uncertainty about the midfielder’s future, saying, “I cannot say that [he is definitely staying].
When the transfer window is open, anything can happen.
We are happy with Kiernan’s performance and work ethic, but that’s all I can say for now.”
Despite the potential opportunity to re-sign Dewsbury-Hall, some Leicester fans are against the idea of his return.
Instead, they want the club to prioritize strengthening other positions.
Leicester’s midfield is already well-stocked, with the resurgence of Boubakary Soumare and the arrival of Oliver Skipp providing quality options for van Nistelrooy.
Bringing Dewsbury-Hall back to the King Power Stadium could be seen as a luxury move rather than a necessity, given the more urgent issues in attack and defense.
