Wolves have sacked Gary O’Neil following their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town, confirmed by several media outlets.
The loss came courtesy of a stoppage-time goal and left Wolves 19th in the Premier League table, with just nine points.
They currently trail Leicester by five points ahead of their upcoming clash next week.
Despite receiving a vote of confidence from the board earlier in the week, O’Neil’s tenure has come to an abrupt end, leaving Wolves in search of a new manager.
The question now is who will lead Wolves against Leicester City on Sunday, December 22.
While Leicester’s preparations are unlikely to be significantly impacted, doubts remain over Wolves’ leadership.
If a replacement is found before the match, they could feature on the touchline at King Power Stadium.
However, as of now, Wolves have not issued an official statement, leaving the possibility of a temporary coaching staff member taking charge for the game.
