Report: Newcastle Given Opportunity to Sign ‘Incredible’ Talent in Bargain Deal – Blistering Pace on Display

Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign 19-year-old prospect Neiser Villarreal this summer, as the club looks to bolster its roster of young talent to secure a strong future in the Premier League’s top half.

Villarreal, who only broke into Millonarios’ first team earlier this year, made his debut in Colombia’s top division in September 2023.

He earned his first start for the club in a recent 2-1 defeat to Junior FC.

Despite limited senior experience, the highly-rated youngster is attracting attention from European clubs, with Newcastle among those offered his services.

Wyscout has described him as an “incredible” talent.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness), Villarreal is on Newcastle’s radar, alongside a surprising mix of clubs, including La Liga leaders Barcelona and English Championship side Watford.

The 19-year-old striker is under contract with Millonarios until the end of the season and has made 10 senior appearances since debuting in 2023.

However, his impressive record at the international youth level—scoring 10 goals in nine appearances for Colombia’s U20 team—has put him on the radar of multiple European clubs.

Newcastle, among others, has been presented with the opportunity to sign him in what could be an affordable deal for manager Eddie Howe.

During the winter transfer window, Millonarios reportedly agreed to sell Villarreal to Brazilian club Vasco da Gama for £3.4 million.

However, the player declined the move, as he and his representatives remain intent on securing a transfer to Europe.

This decision has kept Newcastle interested, with the Magpies closely monitoring his situation.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is also evaluating the possibility of signing the South American forward.

The report further states that Villarreal and his agents are in no rush to finalize a move.

They are considering all options, aware that if he waits until the end of the season, he could leave Millonarios on a free transfer.

While Newcastle could sign him for around £2.5 million in the summer, Villarreal may opt to explore additional offers before making his decision.

If Newcastle were to secure his signature, Villarreal might not immediately join the first team, given the presence of established attackers like Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon, and William Osula.
