BREAKING: Aston Villa on the VERGE of steals of the century as Unai Emery closes in on ‘MAGNIFICENT’ superstar that will DESTROY the Premier League – rivals left in absolute SHOCK

Aston Villa are reportedly in pole position to sign West Ham United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the defender keen to remain in the Premier League after the Hammers’ relegation.

According to the Daily Mail, the 28-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs after impressing despite West Ham’s difficult campaign.

Wan-Bissaka made 27 appearances last season and maintained his reputation as a strong defensive full-back.

His availability could also make him an attractive option, with West Ham potentially forced to accept a modest fee due to their Championship status and the player’s desire to leave.

Arsenal were previously linked with the DR Congo international, while Everton had also shown interest.

However, both clubs appear to have moved in different directions, leaving Villa as the current favourites.

Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his defensive options as Villa prepare for another season combining Premier League and Champions League football.

The club are already set to sign Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid as Lucas Digne prepares to join Paris Saint-Germain.

Wan-Bissaka could provide particularly useful competition at right-back, where Matty Cash has been the established first choice.

Although Cash is not expected to be replaced, Villa need greater depth given their increased fixture schedule. At present, 20-year-old Kosta Nedeljkovic provides cover.

The former Manchester United defender would also offer Emery a different profile from Cash. While Cash provides greater attacking threat, Wan-Bissaka is renowned for his defensive ability and one-on-one defending.

Adding Wan-Bissaka would therefore give Emery two contrasting options at right-back, allowing him to select between attacking quality and defensive solidity depending on the opponent.

With Villa aiming to compete domestically and in Europe, his experience could prove valuable.
