King Predicts ‘Desperate’ European Club Will Accept £12m Everton Offer for Current Loanee

Bryan King Suggests Everton Could Secure Orel Mangala from Lyon for £12 Million

Former Goodison Park scout believes that financially struggling Lyon will likely accept Everton’s offer for Orel Mangala.

According to Foot Mercato (16 November), Everton are looking to capitalize on Lyon’s relegation to Ligue 2 by signing Mangala for a reduced fee.

Mangala is currently on loan at Goodison Park, but the loan deal did not include a purchase option or obligation.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, the ex-scout suggested Everton hold the upper hand in negotiations.

“I would think Everton could sign him for as little as £12 million,” he said. “He has certainly proven his worth in recent weeks.

The ball is in Everton’s court because Lyon are desperate for money.

Whatever Everton offer, as long as it’s reasonable, Lyon will likely have to accept since Mangala won’t want to return to France and play in the second division.”

A move to make Mangala’s stay permanent appears straightforward for the Toffees.

As long as they avoid relegation, Mangala is likely to prefer remaining in the Premier League over returning to a troubled Lyon side.

Given Lyon’s financial woes, they are expected to accept a reasonable offer from Everton.

As Mangala continues to impress during his loan spell, it seems increasingly likely that his future lies at Goodison Park.
