SHOCKING: Aston Villa’s £5m gamble is a TOTAL DISASTER waiting to happen — but Unai Emery is STILL risking EVERYTHING on his “knowledge”… and fans are LOSING IT!

Aston Villa Take Major Gamble by Signing Chelsea Winger Alejandro Garnacho on Season-Long Loan

Aston Villa’s decision to sign Alejandro Garnacho represents a significant gamble, according to former club chief executive Keith Wyness, who believes manager Unai Emery is confident he can bring the best out of the Argentine winger.

Garnacho joined Villa following Morgan Rogers’ British-record £117million transfer to Chelsea, with reports suggesting the two deals could be connected.

The Argentine’s move includes a conditional obligation-to-buy clause, with recent reports indicating that the requirements are expected to be met without much difficulty.

Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson has also claimed the agreement could involve an upfront £5million loan fee, adding another financial element to the complicated deal.

Despite Garnacho’s obvious ability, Wyness believes Villa are taking a risk because of concerns surrounding the player’s temperament.

The former Manchester United winger has occasionally attracted criticism over his attitude, particularly during periods when he or his team have struggled for form.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said Emery is effectively backing his own judgement, believing he understands how to manage Garnacho and motivate him consistently.

He acknowledged that the youngster possesses considerable talent and could become an important player if Emery succeeds in unlocking his potential.

However, Wyness suggested Chelsea may have secured the more favourable side of the wider financial arrangement, describing the transfer as part of an “engineered package” designed to navigate financial regulations.

Meanwhile, Villa are also set to lose set-piece coach Austin MacPhee to Chelsea after the Blues triggered his release clause.

Wyness believes Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is behind the move and expects MacPhee to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

MacPhee earned widespread praise for transforming Villa’s effectiveness from dead-ball situations.

His departure is another setback for Villa during a summer in which the club have already seen key personnel and players targeted by Chelsea.
