Report Reveals Antonio’s Estimated Return Date as West Ham Staff Left ‘Amazed’

Michail Antonio Leaves West Ham Staff “Amazed” as New Return Date is Confirmed for Fan Favourite.

Michail Antonio was involved in a horrific car accident in December, raising serious doubts about his future in football.

At one stage, it was uncertain whether he would ever return to the pitch.

However, Antonio has recently made significant progress in his recovery and is now back in London for the next phase of his rehabilitation.

A fresh update has now emerged regarding his potential return to action.

Antonio’s Return Timeline at West Ham

West Ham manager Graham Potter recently hinted that Antonio could feature before the 2024-25 season ends.

According to Sean Whetstone, via his West Ham Football account on X (26 February), Antonio is “getting stronger each day.”

The report further notes that those who have seen him train in the gym are “amazed at the progress” he has made.

His estimated return date is between 18 and 25 May, meaning he could play just before the campaign concludes.

West Ham Could Use Antonio’s Presence

West Ham’s victory over Arsenal was a massive morale boost, but the team has otherwise struggled for consistency.

Antonio’s absence has been a significant blow, with Julen Lopetegui being dismissed and replaced by Potter during his spell on the sidelines.

If the projected return date holds, Antonio could potentially face his former club, Nottingham Forest, on 18 May, or feature against Ipswich Town on 25 May.

This now appears to be a realistic target for him, despite the uncertainty surrounding his comeback just months ago.

His priority will be to get back on the field before the summer, allowing the off-season to serve as a crucial period for regaining full fitness.

Ultimately, Antonio will be grateful simply to be alive after such a devastating accident.

The initial images of the crash were shocking, making his current progress all the more remarkable.

While his impact this season may be limited, Potter will undoubtedly be pleased to have him as part of the squad moving forward.
