“Right Now”: Fabrizio Romano Confirms “Extraordinary” Player Undergoing Tottenham Medical in London

Tottenham Hotspur Nearing Their First Deadline Day Signing.

Tottenham Hotspur have endured a challenging transfer window, with little activity in the first four weeks.

Spurs fans had to remain patient as the club struggled to bring in new players.

In January, Antonin Kinsky was the only signing made by Tottenham. It wasn’t until February that Kevin Danso was officially announced, marking their second acquisition.

Now, Spurs are on the brink of securing a third signing before the window fully closes.

Mathys Tel Undergoes Tottenham Medical

The pursuit of Mathys Tel has been a whirlwind for Tottenham supporters. Initially, when Bayern Munich made him available late in the window, Spurs showed immediate interest and were prepared to sign him.

However, Tel was not keen on a permanent move and rejected their initial approach.

As potential transfers to Manchester United and Arsenal failed to materialize, Bayern became open to a straightforward loan deal.

This gave Tottenham another opportunity, and after discussions with Harry Kane, Tel decided to join Spurs.

He has since traveled to London, and according to Fabrizio Romano, he is currently undergoing his medical examination before finalizing a loan move until the season’s end. Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano confirmed:

“Mathys Tel decided to accept Tottenham. All the other clubs—Man United and others—also made offers, but Tel felt that at Tottenham, he would have the chance to play regularly and be an important player each week.

That’s why he said yes. He is in London now, having his medical, and will soon be a Spurs player.

What Tel Brings to Spurs

Tel has struggled for consistent game time at Bayern Munich this season.

With Harry Kane leading the line for the German side, opportunities for players below him in the pecking order have been limited.

At Tottenham, however, Tel is likely to feature more frequently.

Spurs are currently dealing with injuries to key attacking players, including Dominic Solanke, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, and Wilson Odobert.

This creates an opening for Tel to play a significant role.

Praised by Thierry Henry as an “extraordinary” talent, Tel offers impressive versatility.

He is capable of operating anywhere across the front three, making him a perfect fit for Ange Postecoglou’s attacking system.

If he settles in quickly, Tel has the potential to make a significant impact and help Tottenham improve their fortunes in the second half of the season.
