West Ham youngster George Earthy is set to join Championship club Bristol City on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the Hammers last season and scored his first goal for the club in their final home game of the season.
Mail Sport understands that Robins boss Liam Manning played a key role in Earthy’s decision to move, owing to his previous role coaching West Ham’s youth teams.
Earthy is highly regarded by West Ham’s coaches and is tipped for a bright future.
The loan move to Ashton Gate is seen as an opportunity for him to secure regular first-team football, especially with West Ham bringing in several attacking players during the transfer window.
Speaking to Mail Sport last month, former West Ham player and coach Jack Collinson described Earthy as a “mini Mark Noble.”
Collinson said, “His character, he was always a real cheeky kid, always enthusiastic, loved training, and on matchday was just so competitive.
It was like watching a mini Mark Noble. It’s hard to tell at that age, but there’s always that hope that they’re going to go on and fulfill their potential.”
Bristol City started their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Hull City last weekend.
Earthy could make his debut for the Robins when they host Coventry City on Saturday.
