Report Suggests West Ham Could Sell Kudus in 2025 to Finance Another Deal
West Ham United may finance a permanent deal for Jean-Clair Todibo in 2025 by selling star forward Mohammed Kudus, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reported in its Wednesday print edition [21 August, page 47] that United is set to pay Nice £34 million for Todibo next year.
However, to secure the centre-back permanently at the start of the next season, the Irons will first need to generate funds.
Jack Rosser’s report suggested that “funds for that purchase could be raised by selling Mohammed Kudus, who has an £85 million release clause, in 12 months’ time.”
West Ham should prioritize keeping Mohammed Kudus.
Despite the excitement surrounding incoming transfers this summer, including those already signed or potentially arriving, the Irons already have an impressive roster of attackers.
This includes fan-favorite Jarrod Bowen, the playmaker Lucas Paqueta, and the electrifying Kudus, who enjoyed an impressive debut season in English football.
Kudus was particularly notable in the recent 2-1 loss to Aston Villa and has the potential to be one of the top players in the division this season.
While his release clause is well known and may cause concern in 10 months, Kudus isn’t going anywhere right now.
Although clubs must maintain financial balance, hopefully, future player purchases, including those planned for 2025, can be financed through other means—without needing to sell key players like Kudus, Paqueta, and others.
