Two clubs are interested in signing Richarlison from Tottenham this summer. Spurs acquired Richarlison from Everton for a club-record £60 million in the summer of 2022 (ESPN). The Brazilian, considered a ‘world-class’ player, was seen as an excellent signing for Antonio Conte due to his versatility and work ethic. However, his debut season didn’t go as planned.
Richarlison scored just one goal in the Premier League during the 2022/23 campaign, drawing substantial criticism and prompting some fans to call for his sale. Despite this, Spurs retained him, and he improved significantly under Ange Postecoglou. The 27-year-old scored 12 goals in the 2023/24 season, but his future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been uncertain since early 2023.
Numerous reports have suggested Richarlison might leave Tottenham this summer. Ben Jacobs recently provided an intriguing update on GiveMeSport, revealing that Saudi Arabian dealmakers are prepared to pay close to £60 million for Richarlison. Both Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah are interested in the Spurs forward, and Tottenham is reportedly ‘braced for offers.’
Tottenham are tracking two strikers to replace Richarlison if he’s sold. If they receive offers around £60 million, they should accept it immediately—it’s an obvious decision. Richarlison is a popular figure at Spurs, but Postecoglou’s side is unlikely to recoup the money they paid for him if they reject offers from Saudi Arabia this summer.
If Tottenham sells Richarlison, they’ll need a replacement. Jacobs has identified two forwards Spurs are considering. The first is Lille’s Jonathan David, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. The Canadian forward is considered by Postecoglou and is available for £25 million.
The other striker Tottenham is tracking is Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican scored 26 goals for Feyenoord last season and is another option for Spurs this summer.
