Medical Scheduled Tomorrow as West Ham Miss Out on New Signing – Report

West Ham United are set to miss out on Armando Broja as the Chelsea striker heads to Ipswich on loan, according to HITC.

A news outlet reported on Tuesday (20 August) that Armando Broja, 22, will undergo a medical with Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town on Wednesday (21 August), following the agreement of a season-long loan deal with Chelsea.

West Ham, Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Southampton had all shown interest in signing the Albanian striker.

However, HITC claims Ipswich is set to secure his signature after he spent time training away from Chelsea’s first team.

Ipswich is set to sign Broja, overtaking West Ham United in the race.

West Ham’s interest waned after they secured Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.

The Slough-born Chelsea forward is eager to join a club where he will get ample game time, something that wasn’t guaranteed at West Ham.

Broja’s career has been hindered by injuries and a series of loan spells away from Chelsea, preventing him from gaining a solid footing.

Even if the Irons had signed him temporarily, it’s doubtful that Broja would have been prioritized over Fullkrug, Michail Antonio, or even Danny Ings in Julen Lopetegui’s lineup.

Jarrod Bowen is also capable of filling in as a striker, further reducing Broja’s potential playing time.

Although Ings might be transferred before the window closes, and there have been rumors about Antonio’s future at Stratford, nothing concrete has materialized.

Lopetegui seems content with his current striker options as the Premier League season gets underway.
