Report: West Ham United Target £11m Man City Player for Summer Signing

Manchester City have demonstrated in past summer transfer windows that they are unhesitant to sell players to other Premier League clubs.

Manchester City have shown willingness to sell players to other Premier League clubs in past transfer windows, as evidenced by the sales of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to top-flight rivals.

West Ham United join the race to sign Sergio Gomez

A recent report from Caught Offside mentions West Ham United among several clubs, including Roma, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, and Sevilla, interested in signing Sergio Gomez from City this summer.

The Citizens acquired the Spaniard from Anderlecht in the 2022 summer transfer window for £11 million.

Gomez has made 38 appearances for City across all competitions but has only started 14 of them. Notably, in City’s previous Premier League campaign, the 23-year-old full-back played a mere 48 minutes across six substitute appearances.

City should sell Gomez

Despite Gomez expressing his enjoyment working with and learning from Guardiola back in July, a move away from City this summer to a club where he can play regularly might be the best step for his career.

With West Ham reportedly interested in Gomez, it seems prudent for City to consider any suitable offers. A transfer could allow Gomez to become a more prominent figure at another club, benefiting both the player and the Premier League champions.
