“Leicester City LEGENDS STORM Celtic! Brendan Rodgers’ SHOCKING Free Agent Signing Will Leave You SPEECHLESS!”

Celtic snap up free agent Kelechi Iheanacho on one-year deal after Sevilla exit

Kelechi Iheanacho has officially reunited with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic after completing a move to Glasgow as a free agent.

The former Leicester City striker endured a frustrating spell at Sevilla, where his contract was cancelled on deadline day, freeing him to join any club.

Celtic, who were suddenly in need of a striker after Adam Idah’s deadline-day switch to Swansea, moved quickly to secure his signature.

Rodgers, who previously managed Iheanacho at Leicester and guided him to FA Cup glory in 2021, wasted no time in bringing him in.

Iheanacho has penned a one-year deal at Celtic Park, with an option for an additional season. His arrival also reunites him with his former Leicester captain, Kasper Schmeichel, who is now the first-choice goalkeeper for the Hoops.

Rodgers was full of praise for his new forward, saying:

“I know Kelechi so well and what he can bring to the team. He is such a talented player, with great ability, athleticism and work-rate. I am sure he will love being at Celtic and I believe our fans will love what he brings.

He has great experience and he is right in his peak years, so he can be a great signing for us. I am sure he will make a big contribution to the team.”

The Nigerian striker will also have the chance to play in Europe this season, with Celtic entering the Europa League after their Champions League elimination.

Rodgers’ men were knocked out by Kazakh side Kairat on penalties after two goalless legs in the play-off round.

Now 28, Iheanacho will aim to spearhead Celtic’s attack as they look to secure a fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title. The Hoops currently lead the table on goal difference after four games.
