Liverpool have entered the race to sign the 26-year-old winger who previously played for their rivals Everton.

According to the Spanish publication Fichajes, Liverpool and Manchester United are set to compete this summer for the signing of Atalanta star Ademola Lookman. Lookman played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s first major trophy win in nearly 60 years, scoring a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.
The Nigerian forward had an outstanding 2023-24 season, recording 45 appearances across all competitions, and contributing 10 assists and 17 goals. Liverpool aims to strengthen several areas of their squad, including their attack, and the arrival of new manager Arne Slot signals a desire to bring in players that align with his tactical philosophy.
Liverpool’s interest in Lookman heightened following his impressive performance in the Europa League final, and they are now keen to lure him to Anfield. However, Atalanta values Lookman at around £51 million, indicating Liverpool will need to make a substantial financial offer to secure his services.
With Luis Diaz potentially leaving Anfield, Liverpool has begun searching for suitable replacements. Manchester United and Chelsea are also reportedly interested in bidding for Lookman this summer.
Lookman’s versatility allows him to play on either wing, making him a valuable asset. He can create opportunities for teammates, finish chances effectively, and has the speed to outmaneuver defenders. His experience in the Premier League, particularly with Everton, shows his significant development and career transformation.
The race to sign Lookman remains open, but his demonstrated ability to perform at a high level ensures he will be a valuable addition to any club. It will be intriguing to see which team ultimately secures his signature.
