Ruthless Potter Set to Offload Entire West Ham XI with Eight New Signings in the Works

Graham Potter is under mounting pressure at West Ham after a recent defeat to one of the Premier League’s lowest-ranked sides.

Despite already facing criticism, many Hammers fans are reserving final judgement until next season, when Potter is expected to have a squad shaped to his own vision.

The manager has already asked for patience and publicly addressed speculation following a leaked report suggesting a break clause exists in his contract, allowing the club to terminate his deal a year early.

Potter responded assertively, promising a significant squad overhaul during the summer transfer window.

After inheriting an ageing and thin squad from David Moyes, Potter—alongside technical director Tim Steidten and recruitment lead Kyle Macaulay—is planning to revamp the team, potentially involving the departure of up to 11 players and the arrival of eight new signings.

Last summer’s recruitment added nine players but increased the average age of the squad, making it the oldest in the Premier League—a factor that has shown on the pitch. This time, the rebuild is expected to be more targeted.

However, West Ham have clarified that new signings will depend on outgoing player sales, aiming to generate over £100 million in revenue.

Several departures are already being lined up. Loan players Evan Ferguson and Carlos Soler won’t be retained.

High-earner Danny Ings will be released, and Guido Rodriguez is set to be sold, with interest from Spain.

Maxwel Cornet, currently on loan at Genoa, may be included in a swap deal for defender Koni de Winter.

Vladimir Coufal is expected to leave after expressing frustration with his position and lack of minutes.

Veteran goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is also likely to exit as he nears his 40th birthday.

Mohammed Kudus, despite a disappointing season, could fetch a significant fee, while Emerson Palmieri is on the market after losing his place to youngster Ollie Scarles.

Kyle Walker-Peters is being considered as a versatile replacement.

While Potter rates Konstantinos Mavropanos, the Greek defender may be sold if the price is right, along with Edson Alvarez if offers arrive.

Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell could earn short extensions, while decisions are pending on Lucas Paqueta, depending on legal outcomes.

On the incoming side, West Ham are targeting a full-back, centre-back, and goalkeeper.

The midfield will be overhauled with up to three additions.

Up front, Potter wants at least one new striker, potentially two if Niclas Fullkrug is sold, with the aim to secure a long-term leader for the attack and a versatile wide forward.
