Ruud van Nistelrooy Suffers Fourth Consecutive Defeat as Leicester City Fall to Manchester City

To compound their misery, a last-minute equalizer from Wolves at Tottenham Hotspur left Leicester two points away from safety.
The defeat also marked an unwanted milestone for manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, as it equaled a 21-year record for consecutive losses.
This setback came despite many hailing the performance as Leicester’s best of the season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy on Leicester City’s Latest Defeat
After an encouraging start to his tenure, Van Nistelrooy has now overseen four consecutive defeats.
However, the last two games have shown clear signs of improvement. The Dutchman acknowledged the frustration of not being rewarded for the team’s efforts.
When asked if he could take positives from the game, Van Nistelrooy said:
“Yeah, I did. That’s why it hurts that we didn’t take anything from the game, because of the performance.
We invested a lot— the players gave everything—to get a result in a certain way. It was excellent play.
Great build-up from the back through the midfield and into the final third, creating chances.
“It’s a shame. I wish we could have taken something from the game because of the players’ efforts today.”
Van Nistelrooy Praises Bilal El Khannouss
Among the positives, the standout display of Bilal El Khannouss was particularly noteworthy.
The young midfielder once again impressed both fans and his manager.
Van Nistelrooy, a long-time admirer of El Khannouss, highlighted his performance.
“He was good, he was excellent. It suits him as well, the way we’re trying to play,” the Leicester manager said.
“Bilal deserves a big compliment today for his work-rate off the ball and his skill and technical ability on the ball.”
