Scott Arfield believes that if Rangers do have the option to buy Cerny for £5.5 million before the end of May, they must act swiftly to finalize the deal.

Writing in the Daily Record, Arfield emphasized:

“One decision Rangers must prioritize is Vaclav Cerny’s future.

“They have the chance to secure the Czech winger for £5.5 million, but only if they find the funds before the end of May—after which Wolfsburg can open negotiations with a list of ten other interested clubs.

“For me, this is an easy call. Sign him now. Five million pounds is not pocket change, but Rangers have paid the price before for not investing in quality wide players. As the saying goes, ‘buy cheap, buy twice.’

“With Cerny, Rangers already know he can handle the pressure that comes with playing in Glasgow.”

Transfer Expert Weighs in on Cerny’s Future

To gain further insight into Rangers’ chances of securing Cerny, Rangers News consulted transfer specialist Graeme Bailey of GRV Media.

Bailey revealed that Cerny has thoroughly enjoyed his time in Glasgow and is open to the possibility of staying—a sentiment he has also expressed in interviews with the Czech media.

However, Bailey cautioned that several Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Cerny’s performances.

Even so, he believes Rangers still have a shot at signing him, especially with the impending 49ers Enterprises consortium takeover.

“Cerny has really enjoyed his time at Rangers—more than that, I’m told he has loved it.

He is open to staying, but Premier League clubs are also interested and keeping a close eye on him.

“That said, I believe Rangers still have a chance, particularly with the takeover expected to be in place by summer.”
