SHOCK BOMBSHELL: Newcastle Set to SNATCH Man City’s £100M Superstar in January After He BEGS Pep to Let Him FLEE the Etihad – Fans Are LOSING THEIR MINDS!

Newcastle United are aiming to sign Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The Magpies attempted to bring the England international to St James’ Park in the summer, but City activated a matching rights clause to secure his transfer.

Despite that setback, Newcastle are expected to revive their interest next month, with Trafford now struggling for meaningful playing time.

The 23-year-old had been assured he would be the first-choice goalkeeper after arriving from Burnley, but Manchester City’s deadline-day move for Gianluigi Donnarumma changed everything.

Since the Italian’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, he has started every Premier League match, leaving Trafford limited to just three appearances.

Seeking regular minutes to advance his career, Trafford is now open to a move, and Newcastle may be prepared to offer him the opportunity he wants.

He had hoped that joining Manchester City would strengthen his bid to replace Jordan Pickford as England’s No. 1, but his lack of action has instead stalled his international ambitions.

Newcastle, meanwhile, brought in Aaron Ramsdale on loan from Southampton, and he may soon get a run of games following calls for Nick Pope to be dropped after a series of mistakes.

Even so, Trafford would not walk straight into the starting line-up given the competition posed by Ramsdale and Pope.

However, manager Eddie Howe is reportedly an admirer of the young keeper and may be tempted to integrate him because of his distribution and style of play.

The Magpies do need reinforcements in January as they push to finish the season strongly across all competitions, but signing another goalkeeper is arguably not their most urgent priority.

With several areas needing upgrades, smart decisions will be crucial.

Newcastle are also pursuing AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit and could sanction the sale of Joe Willock to Crystal Palace should they secure the Dutchman.

They may need one or two attacking additions as well, with forward William Osula seemingly set on joining Eintracht Frankfurt after reportedly reaching a verbal agreement with the Bundesliga club.
