Ianis Hagi’s Contract Situation
Rangers manager Philippe Clement recently acknowledged that Hagi’s contract is nearing its expiration as the season progresses.
According to The Daily Record, there have been no discussions planned between the club and Hagi regarding a new contract.
However, the Romanian playmaker remains open to negotiations if the terms benefit both parties.
A source close to Hagi revealed that he is “happy” in Glasgow and willing to hear what Rangers have to offer.
This aligns with Clement’s statement suggesting that talks are expected.
“He will be out of contract at the end of the season,” Clement said. “Negotiations will take place, but I don’t know what numbers Ianis or the club have in mind. That’s for them to discuss.”
Interest in France and Italy
Hagi returned to the Rangers first team in October after being sidelined and relegated to the reserves due to a wage clause issue in his contract.
Once renegotiated, the 26-year-old attacking midfielder began regaining form, marking a comeback after injury struggles and a disappointing loan spell at Alaves in Spain.
However, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Hagi is now technically free to explore offers from other clubs.
