However, not everything has gone smoothly on Merseyside, as injuries have already disrupted the squad.
The defence has been hit particularly hard, with Jarrad Branthwaite sidelined by a hamstring problem.
Adding to the concerns, Vitaliy Mykolenko has also picked up an injury ahead of the clash with Leeds United.
In light of these setbacks, Everton are now considering further defensive reinforcements, with Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior emerging as a target.

Earlier this summer, Michael Keane committed his future to the club by signing a new contract, while Everton concentrated on strengthening other areas.
Yet the latest injuries are pushing the Blues to re-focus on bolstering their centre-back options.
According to Caught Offside, Everton are one of several clubs interested in Kiwior. The 25-year-old Arsenal defender is also attracting attention from Crystal Palace, Wolves, AC Milan, Juventus, and Porto.
Despite the growing interest, the report stresses that Arsenal are currently offering Kiwior a new deal, which could complicate matters for any suitors.
Everton’s recruitment team are also thought to be monitoring Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma as another possible late-window addition.
Mikel Arteta’s view on Kiwior
Kiwior was handed significant responsibility last season by Mikel Arteta when defensive injuries struck Arsenal.
He made 17 Premier League appearances along with 10 outings in the Champions League, impressing his manager with his adaptability and composure.
Arteta praised his defender, saying:
“He [Kiwior] deserves a lot of credit because he hasn’t played too much throughout many months and suddenly he has been thrown into the most difficult context.
At the highest level, playing against the best opponents when you haven’t had the physical rhythm or the confidence to do it, and I think he’s been exceptional.”
Given Everton’s current struggles at the back, Kiwior could represent a smart solution and a valuable addition.
Still, any move would likely hinge on assurances over regular playing time, as the Polish international would be reluctant to leave north London without guarantees of minutes before the transfer window closes.
