James Tavernier Likely to See Out Rangers Contract After Last Summer’s Exit Rumours

Scottish journalist Joshua Barrie suggests that Rangers may opt to keep Tavernier next season to help preserve continuity within the squad.
He believes there will be less speculation about the captain’s future compared to last summer, when the club was actively looking to sell him and recoup a transfer fee.
Speaking on the Rangers Review (24 May), Barrie stated: “Unlike last summer, I expect there to be less noise around Tavernier’s future because rather than trying to move him on and get money—something the club wanted last season—he’s going into the final year of his deal and maybe falls into that category of ‘you have to keep some people around’.”
Supporters Could Accept a Reduced Role for Tavernier
Tavernier has faced criticism from fans in recent seasons, particularly for his defensive performances.
