Daniel Farke has guided Leeds United to automatic promotion this season after narrowly missing out on a top-two finish last term. However, several national newspapers report that his position is now under review.

Leeds’ majority owner, 49ers Enterprises, is currently in town for United’s final home match of the season and will also attend the team’s fixture at Plymouth Argyle this weekend, where Leeds could still secure the Championship title.

Following reports suggesting some members of the 49ers hierarchy doubt Farke’s suitability for the Premier League, the German manager dismissed the speculation as ‘normal’, especially at a club of Leeds’ size.

Farke stressed that such rumors are common and not something that concerns him.

When asked again about his future ahead of Leeds’ clash with Bristol City, Farke stood by his earlier remarks: “I’ve said everything I needed to say during the press conference, and that’s it. It’s not my topic at all.

“I would just recommend not believing everything that’s in the newspaper. Sometimes it’s completely the opposite. I’ve addressed everything regarding this topic,” he added.

Farke’s recent comments came in response to a report from The Guardian published on Monday morning.

The article named three possible successors to the current Elland Road boss and suggested that Farke was due for important discussions this week with chairman and 49ers Enterprises president Paraag Marathe.
