Leicester City have endured a summer filled with uncertainty, but there’s growing hope that August could mark a turning point.

A potential points deduction still hangs over the club, yet new manager Marti Cifuentes is beginning to mould the squad to suit his vision.

The club has made just one signing — experienced goalkeeper Asmir Begovic — and significant incoming transfer activity remains unlikely for now.

However, player departures could prompt further movement. Begovic’s arrival could pave the way for a goalkeeper exit, with Mads Hermansen now close to sealing a return to the Premier League.

According to Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett, West Ham United have agreed an £18 million deal with Leicester City for Hermansen.

As a result, the Hammers have withdrawn from their planned move for Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor.

Hermansen is expected to undergo a medical with the London club, with personal terms already settled. Graham Potter is said to have played a major role in the transfer.

Hermansen’s exit comes as little surprise Hermansen was instrumental during Enzo Maresca’s Championship-winning campaign last season, making 44 league appearances, keeping 13 clean sheets, and conceding just 41 goals — averaging less than one per match.

Calm with the ball, reliable between the posts, and already experienced in English football, Hermansen fits the profile of a modern Premier League goalkeeper.

However, during Leicester’s relegation campaign in the top flight, Hermansen struggled, conceding 58 goals in 27 games as the team dropped out of the Premier League. Still, his individual talent has earned him another shot at England’s top tier.

More exits looming at Leicester City Hermansen isn’t the only player on the way out.

Wilfried Ndidi is reportedly undergoing a medical with Turkish side Besiktas, while Bilal El Khannouss is also expected to depart in the coming weeks.

Cifuentes will need funds from these exits to reshape the squad. Without reinforcements, Leicester risk a difficult season ahead.

Signings are urgently required across several positions if the Foxes are to remain competitive.
