It was a weekend to forget for Anthony Elanga, who endured a frustrating afternoon as Newcastle United fell 2-1 to Brighton.

Last season, Elanga was a key figure for Forest under Nuno Espirito Santo, combining pace and improved decision-making to become a genuine attacking threat. But those qualities have deserted him at Newcastle.
While he continues to show effort and energy, his final pass and composure have been poor — leaving him without a single goal or assist in competitive action so far.
Against Brighton, Elanga was withdrawn at half-time after recording just 20 touches and one pass into the final third.
NewcastleWorld handed him a 4/10 rating, describing his performance as “an infuriating watch.”
According to FotMob, his expected assists per 90 minutes have plummeted from 0.39 last season to just 0.05 this term, highlighting his decline in creative output.
With his attacking numbers down across the board, Elanga must rediscover his spark quickly if he hopes to keep his starting spot — especially with Yoanne Wissa nearing a debut and Jacob Ramsey now back in contention.
