Wout Faes remained at Leicester after summer interest from Besiktas and has now cemented his place in the Foxes’ starting lineup
Besiktas are reportedly considering another move for Leicester City defender Wout Faes, according to Turkish outlet Fotomac.
The Black Eagles have endured defensive struggles this season, recording only one clean sheet and conceding nine goals — three times more than league leaders Galatasaray — leaving them in sixth place.
Manager Sergen Yalçın has openly criticised his backline, prompting the club to explore reinforcements.
Besiktas are said to be in talks with Chelsea over a deal for French centre-back Axel Disasi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa but is now deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea’s high asking price could push the Turkish giants to reignite their interest in Faes as a more attainable option.
The report highlights that Besiktas previously attempted to sign Faes during the summer window and maintains that the relationship between the two clubs remains positive following Leicester’s recent agreement to sell Wilfred Ndidi to the Super Lig side.
Faes, whose future at the King Power Stadium remains uncertain, began the current campaign on the bench but has since regained his starting place under Marti Cifuentes, featuring in Leicester’s last four Championship fixtures.
The Belgian international, who has under two years remaining on his contract, has made 128 appearances for the Foxes.
He has also been linked with a possible January switch to Lazio, with reports suggesting the Serie A club would need to pay around €10 million (£8.7 million) to secure his signature.
Belgium boss Rudi Garcia recently commented that Faes “has to change” clubs and expressed hope that the defender finds a “good team” after omitting him from his last two national squad selections.
