David Moyes is eager to strengthen several key areas of his Everton squad as the club prepares for a demanding second half of the season.

The Toffees are actively searching for a new centre-forward to ease the scoring burden on Thierno Barry and Beto, both of whom have struggled for consistency in front of goal.

Alongside attacking reinforcements, Everton are also targeting additions in defence and midfield as Moyes looks to add depth and balance to his squad.

Contract situations are also influencing their thinking, with both James Garner and Michael Keane entering the final stages of their deals, which expire in 2026.

There is a real possibility Keane could depart on a free transfer, adding urgency to Everton’s defensive planning.

With that in mind, a recent update from BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella has highlighted a potential solution.

Kinsella reports that Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi has rejected several contract offers and is now expected to leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

The 28-year-old Argentine has been a cornerstone of Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side, missing just one Premier League match this season due to suspension.

While his potential exit would be a major blow for Bournemouth, any club that secures his signature would be acquiring a top-quality defender.

Everton should be firmly in that race. Senesi is already free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs in January, though Bournemouth would likely prefer to sell him for a modest fee before then.

Widely regarded as one of the league’s most reliable defenders, Senesi combines physical solidity with composure on the ball, averaging 6.61 progressive passes per 90 minutes.

In an inflated transfer market, Everton would struggle to find better value, making this a deal they should pursue aggressively.
