In an exclusive with Everton News, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that a Leeds United player could follow Hammond to Goodison Park.
Everton have been searching for a left-back since January, with manager David Moyes identifying it as a key area for reinforcement.
While Vitaliy Mykolenko has improved under Moyes, the club wants additional competition in that position.
Bailey mentioned that Junior Firpo, who joined Leeds from Barcelona in a £15 million deal, is one of the players Everton could target.
With his contract expiring this summer, Firpo is expected to attract considerable interest. “Junior Firpo has had a brilliant season at Leeds,” Bailey said.
“A move to Spain may be his preference, but if he stays in England, don’t rule out Everton. Angus Kinnear and Nick Hammond know him well.”
Firpo struggled in the Premier League but has thrived in the Championship, becoming one of the league’s standout left-backs.
He was named Player of the Month in February and has enjoyed an outstanding 2024/25 campaign, with 35 appearances, 4 goals, and 10 assists—totaling 14 goal involvements.
Given those numbers, Firpo offers significant attacking threat from the back, and if Everton are looking to bolster their options with an offensive-minded left-back, he could be a prime candidate.
