Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol reported close to Monday’s deadline that the transfer could fall apart because of the player’s demands, despite the fact he has already passed his medical.

Although he spent six months on loan at Aston Villa last season and proved he can perform at Premier League level, West Ham are now racing against time to reach an agreement.

From the club’s perspective, the situation is worrying. Disasi has been largely frozen out at Chelsea, making his reluctance to finalise the move difficult to understand.

Passing a medical only for negotiations to stall raises serious concerns about his commitment.

Given his current standing, Disasi is not in a strong position to push back, as another failed move could leave him sidelined for the rest of the season.

His history of similar situations does little to reassure supporters, creating doubts over whether he genuinely wants to represent West Ham.

Should the deal go through, the responsibility will be on Disasi to convince fans of his dedication.
