Leicester City Pre-Season Update: Players Return Without Manager Ahead of Peterborough Friendly

Leicester City’s pre-season officially begins on Monday, but the squad will return to Seagrave without a manager at the helm.

Former player Andy King and the fitness staff will oversee the initial sessions for non-international players.

Unusually, the Foxes will play their first friendly just a few days into pre-season, hosting League One side Peterborough United on Saturday, July 5. This gives players an early opportunity to test their fitness and stake a claim ahead of the new campaign.

Goalkeepers

Jakub Stolarczyk is expected to return, despite interest from Norwich. Mads Hermansen’s availability is uncertain as he recovers from groin surgery. Though officially rehabilitating, his fitness could also be tied to a potential transfer.

Defenders

Right- and left-back positions are well-stocked, with Ricardo Pereira, James Justin, Luke Thomas, and Victor Kristiansen all expected to return.

Youngster Bade Aluko, who made a senior appearance last season, is also in contention.

At centre-back, Conor Coady is unlikely to feature due to a potential move to Rangers. Caleb Okoli is the only regular senior option available.
