“Shocking” – Leicester City Defender Opens Up on Premier League Struggles

Leicester City defender Connor Coady has spoken candidly about the team’s low morale following another disappointing defeat, this time a 3-0 loss to a struggling Manchester United side over the weekend.

The latest setback marks a disastrous run of form for the Foxes, who have now lost 13 of their last 14 matches.

With relegation looming, they face an uphill battle to secure their Premier League status, currently sitting nine points adrift of safety.

This gap is even larger than the seven-point deficit they famously overcame nearly a decade ago in their remarkable escape from relegation.

Speaking after the match, Coady admitted that the team’s struggles have deeply affected both the fans and the players.

The England international acknowledged the fragile state of the squad, telling Sky Sports:

“It’s hard, but to be honest with you, we’re fragile at the minute—you can tell, and I think you can see it.

The chances we’re creating, we’re just a little bit fragile. It’s a tough place right now.

But, as I’ve said, we’ve got to pick ourselves up somehow and try to get back on the bike again.”

Despite their poor form, Coady emphasized that the players remain united in their fight to stay up—a sentiment echoed by manager Ruud van Nistelrooy last week.

“It’s not a tough dressing room. The dressing room is great; people are together, but we’re fragile,” Coady added.

“I think you can see it in our confidence. I’m not sugarcoating anything—this is me being completely honest about our situation.

“We’re in a shocking moment as a club and as a team. It’s really, really tough right now, but we have to find something within ourselves to push forward in these final nine games.”

With the Premier League now pausing for the international break, Coady hopes the two-week hiatus will provide the squad with an opportunity to reset, reflect on their performances, and regroup before the final stretch of the season.

However, their return to action will not be easy, as they face a daunting trip to the Etihad to take on Manchester City.

That clash will be followed by a tough run of fixtures against Newcastle, Brighton, and Liverpool, making Leicester’s survival battle even more challenging.
