Report: Bundesliga giants target highly-rated manager linked with Leicester.
The growing speculation surrounding Leicester City indicates a change in management for next season.
Despite Leicester City’s recent 2–2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, the tenure of Ruud van Nistelrooy as manager continues to be overshadowed by poor results.
The Foxes haven’t tasted victory since January 26, and they appear destined for relegation back to the Championship. Questions are now being raised about van Nistelrooy’s future at the club.
Leicester’s recent form paints a bleak picture. Since their last win against Tottenham, they’ve suffered a string of defeats: 0–4 to Brentford, 0–3 to Newcastle and Manchester United, and 0–2 to both Arsenal and Manchester City.
Additional losses to Everton, Chelsea, and West Ham have left the team floundering, with only a point earned from the last nine games.
As uncertainty looms over the manager’s future, Leicester are reportedly considering replacements.
One name consistently linked with the job is Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl, who has drawn admiration for his impressive work at Hillsborough.
The Foxes aren’t alone in their interest—Southampton, already relegated, are also believed to be eyeing the German coach.
However, Rohl might slip through their fingers. According to Sky Sports Deutschland, RB Leipzig are in ongoing discussions with the 34-year-old manager.
Journalist Phillip Hinze notes that although Cesc Fabregas is Leipzig’s top target, Rohl remains a strong contender.
Jurgen Klopp is also said to be a supporter of Rohl, whose impact in a challenging environment at Sheffield Wednesday has not gone unnoticed.
Rohl, however, has made it clear that he is committed to Wednesday for the remainder of the season.
With the club still in the hunt for a top-six finish, he remains focused.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post in March, he said: “All the rumours don’t influence me. My full energy is here with Sheffield Wednesday. I am not listening to left and right.
My focus is here because I know what we have to do, I know my responsibility to this group, to the club, for our massive fans.”
At a critical juncture in their season, Leicester may need to act fast if they want to secure a top managerial talent before bigger clubs make their move.
