Premier League provide clarification to Everton over a contentious moment in their 2-0 victory against Fulham.
Everton thought they had extended their advantage when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall found the back of the net in the 52nd minute, but the goal was swiftly ruled out.
Despite having three goals disallowed for offside throughout the match, the Toffees eventually found a way to break down their opponents and secure a comfortable victory.

Premier League clarify Dewsbury-Hall’s disallowed goal
Confusion initially surrounded the decision to rule out what appeared to be Everton’s second goal from Dewsbury-Hall’s strike, especially after an earlier effort from James Tarkowski had also been chalked off.
The Premier League Match Centre later confirmed that the disallowed goal was due to Thierno Barry’s involvement in the build-up.
In a statement released on their official X account on 8 November, the league explained: “The referee’s call of no goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that Barry challenged an opponent for the ball while in an offside position in the build-up.”
Thierno Barry’s afternoon to forget against Fulham
While Everton claimed all three points, the performance of French striker Thierno Barry once again raised concerns.
He endured a frustrating afternoon — missing key chances, having a goal ruled out, and being involved in the offside incident that led to Dewsbury-Hall’s strike being disallowed.
Barry missed one big opportunity and managed only two shots during the match. Despite having 34 touches, he struggled to make any significant impact before being substituted for Beto in the 79th minute.
His effort and movement cannot be questioned, but his lack of end product continues to be a problem for David Moyes’ side.
Unfortunately for Everton, Beto has not offered much more when given the chance, leaving Moyes without a reliable option up front.
Having spent close to £40 million on Barry, the manager will be hoping the 23-year-old quickly finds his form and starts delivering the goals his team needs.
