Kerr had previously been singled out for praise by former Rangers director Nils Koppen, who described him as a “hard worker” when the teenager extended his contract.

If Martin remains in charge, however, the current pattern suggests that promising academy players are more likely to benefit from temporary moves away, rather than wait behind underwhelming options such as Mikey Moore, who continues to be preferred to Curtis.
Kerr clearly has potential for a successful future at Ibrox, but for the time being, his development appears best served away from the instability and negative atmosphere surrounding Martin’s management.
