Rangers are reportedly considering a late move for Everton striker Youssef Chermiti before the transfer window closes, according to The Rangers Review.

Russell Martin’s start to life at Ibrox has been far from ideal, with two consecutive Premiership draws already raising questions.

Adding to the pressure was a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Club Brugge in Champions League qualification, prompting the manager to dip into the market in search of reinforcements.

After strengthening with players from across England’s top divisions, Martin is now targeting Chermiti, who could become the next arrival in Glasgow.

Rangers Eyeing Loan Move for Chermiti

The club has already bolstered its attacking options with Mikey Moore, Oliver Antman, Oscar Cortes, Thelo Aasgaard, and Djeidi Gassama.

Yet, with just two goals from their opening league fixtures, there is still a clear need for more firepower.

Chermiti fits the bill as a young forward in search of regular minutes. The Portuguese striker joined Everton from Sporting CP in August 2023 for a fee of around £10 million but has struggled to make an impact.

In 24 appearances for the Toffees, he is yet to score, though he has shown promise at academy level with four goals in five games.

Currently earning £30,000 per week, a loan move would also allow Everton to reduce their wage bill.

For Rangers, a temporary deal presents a low-risk opportunity to unlock Chermiti’s potential while offering him valuable first-team experience.

Alternative Option – Bojan Miovski

Martin is not solely relying on Chermiti to solve his attacking issues. The club is also monitoring Bojan Miovski, who made his name at Aberdeen with an impressive 26 goals in 53 matches during the 2023/24 campaign.

Since moving to Girona, however, the Macedonian striker has struggled to replicate that form, and a return to Scotland could appeal to both parties.

With the transfer deadline of September 1st looming, Rangers still have time to finalise further additions.

While the squad has already seen several new faces arrive, the push for greater attacking output could see either Chermiti or Miovski—or possibly both—arrive at Ibrox before the window slams shut.
