With the transfer window approaching, the East London club is casting a wide net in search of a new frontman, considering both well-known names and rising talents.

One of the players believed to be firmly on their radar is Emanuel Emegha, the highly-rated forward from Strasbourg.

Reports suggest that West Ham are admirers of the Dutchman’s athletic profile and goal-scoring potential.

In parallel, they are also monitoring Liam Delap, who has impressed with his development. The Hammers are among the clubs contemplating triggering the £30 million release clause written into Delap’s contract.

Another exciting option could be Canadian international Jonathan David. The prolific striker is expected to leave Lille on a free transfer when his contract expires in July.

His availability and proven record in Ligue 1 make him a highly sought-after target, and West Ham are certainly one of the sides keeping a close eye on his situation.

Yuri Alberto, meanwhile, remains a familiar name to Hammers fans.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to London two years ago, when Corinthians turned down a £15 million bid.

Despite that rejection, Alberto continues to be on West Ham’s radar and may be revisited as a viable option this time around.

Outside the traditional scouting circles, another player of interest is Dynamo Kyiv’s Vladyslav Vanat. While largely unknown in England at the moment, Vanat is starting to attract attention.

West Ham have reportedly joined fellow Premier League clubs Leeds United and Fulham in tracking the Ukrainian striker, who is quickly building a reputation in his homeland.

Vanat has drawn comparisons to Artem Dovbyk, another striker who rose through the ranks in Ukraine before shining in European football.

Dovbyk’s journey saw him move from Dnipro to Girona, where he topped the La Liga scoring charts, before sealing a £26 million move to Roma.

There, he has continued his strong form, becoming a key figure in Claudio Ranieri’s team as they fight for Champions League qualification in Serie A.

Interestingly, Dovbyk has now confirmed that West Ham were among the clubs that approached him before his move to Italy.

In a recent interview with Football School, translated by Tuttomercatoweb, Dovbyk shed light on his decision-making process.

“It was my choice to go to Roma,” he said. “At Girona, I would have played in the Champions League, but key players who assisted many of my goals were sold. That made me hesitant about staying.”

The Ukrainian forward went on to explain that there were negotiations with Atletico Madrid as well, although the deal fell through. “I think someone at the club didn’t want me there,” he revealed.

“West Ham were also interested, and I spoke with their coach. There were offers from Saudi Arabia, too, with big salaries. But I wanted to remain in Europe.”

Ultimately, Dovbyk narrowed his options down to three: Atletico Madrid, West Ham, and Roma. In the end, he chose the latter.

It’s presumed that the West Ham coach he spoke with was Julen Lopetegui. Despite their interest in Dovbyk, the Hammers eventually signed Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund in a £27 million move.

However, the German striker’s first season in claret and blue has not lived up to expectations.

As for Dovbyk, his future seems secure—for now. “I don’t like to look too far ahead,” he said. “A new coach will be coming in.

If he needs me, I’ll stay—I’m happy here and have a five-year contract. But if he prefers a different striker, I’ll need to look for another opportunity.”

Meanwhile, Vanat recently celebrated a major milestone, helping Dynamo Kyiv win the Ukrainian league title.

Fittingly, it was former West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko who netted the decisive penalty, clinching the championship with one match to spare.
